Cisco spends some more cash and picks up Starent Networks

October 13th, 2009

Mobile data traffic is expected to more than double every year through 2013 and in keeping up with their buying streak Cisco is buying Starent Networks. The transaction should be complete by mid 2010 and the company will become Cisco’s new Mobile Internet Technology Group giving the company a major leg up into the mobile data market.

Cisco has proven its capability to successfully move into new markets such as VoIP and server virtualization and become a major player quickly.

At Kennedy Communications we are excited to see the possibilities this could bring. Our company was founded in the wireless industry almost 19 years ago with 2-way radios, cellular phones, and pagers. Since 1991 we have been experts in wireless, voice, and data communications. We see this as an opportunity to expand our Cisco portfolio as they move forward with this acquisition.
