Avaya’s purchase of Nortel will make them the largest provider.

Avaya won approval from both US and Canadian courts for its $915 million deal to purchase Nortel’s communications operation.
The deal will bring Avaya’s North American market share to 27% and position them as the largest provider.
Avaya will pay $900 million for the operations, plus set aside $15 million for employee retention. The deal is expected to finalize at the end of the year.
